Announcing Isaac Jace Thacker

Isaac Jace Thacker was born on April 18, 2008 to a very proud family--daddy, Jason and mommy, Jackie , and two very special big sisters, Bailey and Olivia . Jackie was induced on her due date, April 18th, at St. Alphonsus Hospital. Isaac was born 6 hours after they started Jackie on the medication and broke her water. It was longer than usual labor for Jackie, but once it was time for Isaac to be born he arrived in 8 minutes! Isaac was placed on mommy's chest, but within seconds was taken away to the warmer because he wasn't breathing and very gray in appearance. It was very scary, and emotional for mom and dad, but we soon heard him cry again and knew everything was okay. Isaac was then given back to mommy and they quickly bonded as he nursed. Bailey and Olivia came into the room within minutes to finally meet their baby brother. Both of the girls were all smiles as they entered the room, each with a big bouquet of flowers. Grandma Brenda had taken them to the mall earlier that day to the Build-a-Bear workshop where they made a bear for baby brother. They were so excited to give Isaac this bear. We then just marveled over this little miracle that entered our world. Grandma Connie, Grandma Brenda, Bailey, Olivia, Mommy and Daddy were all in the room to enjoy Isaac Jace's first hours. It was a very special day, a day we will never forget.

Big Sister Olivia with Baby Brother Isaac

Olivia was so proud of her new baby brother. Isaac was just 3 hours old when this picture was taken--so fresh, so new, and oh how exciting for a four year old little girl who had been waiting so long for God to put a baby inside mommy's tummy!

Big Sister Bailey with Baby Isaac ~ April 18, 2008

Bailey was in awe of her new baby brother. What an exciting day for a big 7 year old. . . to have a real life doll to play with. Isaac was just over 3 hours old when I caught Bailey checking him out as he laid on the bed cuddled in his blanket.

Olivia Making Sure Isaac is Healthy

Olivia took extra time to carefully examine her new baby brother, she even counted all his fingers and toes. And after she was done she decided that he was "perfect."

Bailey and Isaac Checking Eachother Out 4-18-08

Isaac was very alert for the first few hours after he was born, and Bailey thought it was so great to have her baby brother looking up at her so soon. She just couldn't stop smiling at him!

Isaac Jace Going Home

Isaac looked so handsome (and gorgeous!) in his little preemie going home outfit. The girls had fun helping mommy get him all ready. They couldn't wait to finally bring their baby brother home. We didn't end of leaving the hospital until alittle before 9pm Sunday night--mom was moving a bit slow (in a lot more pain than with the girl's deliveries), had to take lots of pictures (big surprise!), and they had to do the PKU test over because they lost the first test! As we drove off from the hospital, Jason and I looked at eachother and knew exactly what the other was thinking--"We are officially a family of FIVE!" The girls cheered with excitement! Then we all sang "Happy Birthday" to Isaac Jace Thacker. It was a pretty exciting drive home-- the girls were all over the job of checking on Isaac, about every couple of minutes the lights would go on to make sure he was doing okay. When we got home, we had to introduce the new baby to our little dog, Abbey. She was very nervous and didn't know what to think of Isaac, but has done very well adjusting to him being around. My mom had dropped off chicken enchiladas earlier that day (as we were hoping to be home by 5pm!) and what a blessing that was to have a nice meal ready, although the girls opted for cold cereal instead! Then we got the girls off to bed, as they both decided they wanted to go to school the next day to share the happy news. Isaac's first night home went very well, as he slept in bed next to mommy most of the night!

A Little Bit of Heaven

Our sweet little angel. . .just one day old. . . and in our eyes as close to perfect as could be!
Thank you Lord, for our new baby boy. . . our cup overfloweth!

Our Precious Son

Isaac Jace--you are such a wonderful addition to our family. Life just seems so much more complete with you finally in our lives. We love you so much son! ~ Mommy and Daddy

Bright Eyes

Isaac was about 24 hours old and so alert, just checking everything out. Bailey and Olivia had just come to the hospital with Grandma Connie. They were helping daddy change Isaac's diaper.

Sweet Baby Boy

Oh, how I am in love. . . I am starting to understand the meaning of "Mama's Boy."
